NVIDIA and MediaTek Deepen Long-Standing Partnership to Build AI Edge to Cloud Computing Platforms

NVIDIA and MediaTek have announced an expanded collaboration to develop the next generation of AI computing platforms across AI infrastructure, local AI computing, and automotive applications.


As part of the partnership, MediaTek will adopt the NVIDIA NVLink Fusion™ platform, giving hyperscalers, cloud service providers, and developers of frontier AI models a prevalidated pathway to create custom XPUs and integrate them into NVIDIA NVLink™-connected, rack-scale AI factories.


The collaboration combines NVIDIA’s expertise in accelerated computing, AI, graphics, and software platforms with MediaTek’s strengths in custom silicon, high-performance computing, energy-efficient system-on-chip (SoC) design, advanced packaging, interconnects, and connectivity.


In addition to expanding their technology partnership, NVIDIA has invested $3.5 billion in convertible bonds issued by MediaTek, further strengthening the strategic relationship between the two companies.


NVIDIA and MediaTek are collaborating in three major areas:

  1. AI infrastructure: MediaTek will work with NVIDIA’s NVLink Fusion ecosystem to enable customers to develop custom AI infrastructure designed to integrate with NVIDIA rack-scale systems and AI factories.
  2. Local AI computing: The companies will continue to collaborate on multiple generations of NVIDIA RTX Spark™ and DGX Spark™ PC chips, powering consumer PCs, AI developer supercomputers and enterprise-class workstations, that integrate NVIDIA GPUs with MediaTek SoCs.
  3. Automotive: MediaTek and NVIDIA will continue developing platforms for AI-powered, software-defined vehicles in the era of physical AI.

Building Custom AI Infrastructure With NVLink Fusion Platform


MediaTek will provide the NVIDIA NVLink Fusion platform as a design foundation for customers developing custom AI accelerators, allowing their solutions to scale and evolve alongside future NVIDIA architectures.


The NVLink Fusion platform offers a prebuilt, prequalified, and system-prevalidated foundation for developing multi-die XPUs, helping accelerate the development process from silicon and advanced packaging to complete rack-scale systems.


The platform integrates the key technologies required to support custom XPU development, including:

  1. NVIDIA NVLink Fusion chiplet, connecting XPUs to the NVIDIA NVLink scale-up fabric using NVIDIA photonics or electrical interconnects.
  2. NVIDIA NVLink-C2C, providing high-bandwidth, energy-efficient connectivity between XPUs, NVIDIA Rosa CPUs and other compatible processors.
  3. NVIDIA NVHBM, integrating customized memory capabilities to increase bandwidth and energy efficiency while dedicating more silicon area to compute.

Developing a custom accelerator is only the first step toward deploying custom XPUs in rack-scale AI factories. Bringing together multi-die architectures, advanced packaging, high-speed SerDes, HBM, I/O, and scale-up networking into a manufacturable, production-ready system requires extensive engineering, qualification, and supply-chain support across the entire chip-to-rack process.


Instead of designing and qualifying every component around a custom XPU from scratch, customers can focus their resources on the differentiated computing capabilities that define their platforms. NVIDIA and MediaTek can provide the essential NVLink connectivity, memory architecture, packaging, manufacturing, and rack-scale technologies needed to support production deployment.


Customers can bring their XPU designs to MediaTek and customize key elements such as connectivity, memory, packaging, performance, and power based on their specific workloads and infrastructure requirements.


MediaTek is also part of the broader NVIDIA NVLink Fusion ecosystem, enabling hyperscalers, cloud service providers, and frontier AI model developers to seamlessly connect custom XPUs with NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure.


Through NVLink Fusion, partners can take advantage of NVIDIA’s proven scale-up and scale-out technology stack, ecosystem, and NVIDIA MGX™ rack-scale architecture. This approach helps reduce development complexity, enhance performance, and accelerate time to market for semi-custom AI factories.


Bringing Supercomputers to Local AI Computing


NVIDIA and MediaTek are expanding their collaboration to advance local AI computing for the era of generative and agentic AI. The partnership combines NVIDIA’s expertise in accelerated computing with MediaTek’s capabilities in developing high-performance, power-efficient system-on-chip (SoC) solutions.


MediaTek previously worked with NVIDIA on the GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, which powers NVIDIA DGX Spark. The platform combines an NVIDIA Blackwell GPU and Grace CPU connected through NVLink-C2C, delivering powerful AI computing capabilities for edge systems.


Building on this collaboration, the companies are now extending their partnership with NVIDIA RTX Spark, designed to power the next generation of consumer PCs and redefine computing experiences for the AI era.


Advancing the AI-Defined Vehicle in the Era of Physical AI


Additionally, NVIDIA and MediaTek are working together across multiple product generations to advance AI-powered, software-defined vehicles. The collaboration combines MediaTek’s expertise in automotive system-on-chip design with NVIDIA’s strengths in accelerated computing, AI, graphics, and software.


MediaTek’s Dimensity Auto platforms integrate NVIDIA technologies to deliver advanced AI capabilities and NVIDIA RTX™ graphics for intelligent vehicle cockpits, while also supporting integration with NVIDIA DRIVE AGX™.


Building on this foundation, the two companies are continuing their collaboration across future generations to develop a scalable architecture that can support increasingly intelligent, AI-driven vehicles.
