Nuro, Inc., a company specializing in autonomous driving technology, has appointed Rajiv Bhatia as Chief Product Officer. Bhatia will oversee the company’s product strategy and roadmap as Nuro advances plans to commercialize its autonomous driving platform through strategic partnerships and new vehicle programs.

Bhatia brings more than 20 years of experience in product development and team leadership across transportation, multi-sided marketplaces and consumer technology. He most recently served as Vice President of Product at Roblox, following his role as Vice President of Product for Rideshare at Lyft.

Nuro Co-Founder and Co-CEO Jiajun Zhu said, “Rajiv is a fantastic addition to our leadership team. He brings a strong combination of technical expertise, product leadership, and customer focus, and has a proven track record of navigating the technical, operational, and regulatory pressures that come with emerging technologies. As Nuro moves into a period of meaningful commercial expansion, Rajiv’s experience will be invaluable. We’re thrilled to welcome him to the team.”

Bhatia will lead the overall product strategy and roadmap for the Nuro Driver™, an AI-first autonomous driving system that enables automakers, mobility providers and logistics companies to deploy self-driving vehicles at scale. Under his leadership, Nuro will continue expanding its product portfolio to address the needs of commercial fleets, consumer-facing transportation networks and personal vehicles.

Bhatia said, “Nuro is entering an important next phase: Turning its proven level 4 autonomy technology and experience into a platform that can support broader adoption through partnerships and new consumer applications. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with an exceptionally talented, experienced, and determined team to deliver on Nuro’s mission of bettering everyday life through autonomy.”

Bhatia joins Nuro as the company prepares to launch its next-generation robotaxi program, which combines Lucid’s advanced electric vehicles and factory integration, Nuro’s Level 4 autonomous driving platform and validation expertise, and Uber’s global ride-hailing services, fleet operations and rider network. The program is set to debut in the San Francisco Bay Area, with plans to deploy at least 35,000 vehicles across dozens of markets worldwide over the coming years.
