DJI Dock 3 Delivers “Drone in a Box” Enterprise Solution For 24/7 Remote Operations

DJI, a global leader in civilian drones and creative camera technology, has introduced DJI Dock 3, its first “Drone-in-a-Box” system designed to support vehicle mounting and enable round-the-clock remote operations across diverse environments.

Built to address the needs of public safety, emergency response, and infrastructure inspection, DJI Dock 3 is paired with the newly launched DJI Matrice 4D or DJI Matrice 4TD drones. Expanding on the capabilities of the DJI Matrice 4 Series, these latest enterprise-grade platforms deliver enhanced flight performance and improved protection features, further strengthening DJI’s portfolio for mission-critical operations.

Adaptable to Extreme Environments

Engineered for mission-critical operations in harsh environments, DJI Dock 3 is capable of operating and charging reliably in extreme temperatures ranging from 50°C (122°F) down to -30°C (-22°F) when preheated. Its robust construction also protects internal components with an IP56 rating for dust and water resistance. The paired DJI Matrice 4D and 4TD drones are equipped with low-noise, anti-icing propellers as standard, enabling stable and quiet flight performance even in freezing rain and winds reaching up to 12 meters per second.

Flexible Deployment, Ultra-Long Transmission

DJI Dock 3 is designed to flexibly support emergency response missions and long-range inspection tasks. For the first time, it is optimized for vehicle-mounted deployment, offering horizontal calibration and cloud-based dock location calibration to ensure precise positioning. To further improve operational efficiency, two docks can be installed on a single vehicle, enabling dual-drone rotations for continuous mission coverage. For fixed installations, the new D-RTK 3 Relay Fixed Deployment Version* can be integrated to strengthen anti-interference capabilities, enhancing both video transmission stability and satellite signal acquisition.

High-Performance DJI Matrice 4D and 4TD

The new DJI Matrice 4D and 4TD drones come with IP55-rated protection against dust and water, along with extended endurance of up to 54 minutes of forward flight and 47 minutes of hovering. Each platform is equipped with a wide-angle camera, medium telephoto camera, telephoto camera, and a Laser Range Finder to support diverse mission requirements. A dedicated Night Scene mode enables full-color night vision, while the 4TD model adds an IR-Cut Filter feature to support enhanced black-and-white night vision capabilities.

Matrice 4D is designed for high-precision mapping and detailed surface inspections. It features a 24mm wide camera (4/3 CMOS, f/2.8-f/11, 20MP) with a mechanical shutter, a 70mm medium tele camera (1/1.3-inch CMOS, f/2.8, 48MP), and a 168mm tele camera (1/1.5-inch CMOS, f/2.8, 48MP). When paired with FlightHub 2, operators can use the drone's powerful auto-zoom to quickly track a subject, such as a vehicle or vessel.
Matrice 4TD is equipped with an infrared thermal camera and a new NIR auxiliary light with 100 meters of coverage for public safety, emergency response, and infrastructure inspections. It features the same tele camera and medium tele camera as the Matrice 4D but a smaller 24mm wide camera (1/1.3-inch CMOS, f/1.7, 48MP).

Seamless Airborne Relay

When paired with the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise remote controller, the Matrice 4D Series can operate independently or utilize an innovative onboard relay function. In this configuration, one drone serves as an aerial relay, extending the communication range of another drone—even in the absence of a 4G signal or in areas with signal obstruction. This capability is particularly valuable for search and rescue operations or inspection missions in mountainous and hard-to-reach terrain.

Other New Accessories for Comprehensive Support

Obstacle Sensing Module: For more precise maneuvering in complex environments such as 12mm power grid line wires and intricate substation layouts, an Obstacle Sensing Module* can be added to equip the Matrice 4D/4TD with LiDAR and millimeter-wave radar technology.
Gimbal-Following Spotlight: The DJI AL1 SpotLight can illuminate subjects up to 100 meters away. When connected with the gimbal, the spotlight can follow the camera's movements to illuminate the camera's view.
Real-Time Voice Speaker: The DJI AS1 Speaker can broadcast up to 300 meters away, up to 114 decibels at a distance of 1 meter. It supports recorded messages, media imports, and text-to-speech conversion.
Third-Party Payloads: DJI Enterprise has significantly expanded its product capabilities by enabling the connection of third-party payloads, including parachutes via the aircraft's E-Port, or remotely controlling added payloads via FlightHub 2. It also features an additional port for PSDK payload at the rear.

Intelligent Aerial Operation for Efficient Remote Missions

Integrating DJI Dock 3 with DJI FlightHub 2 further boosts the intelligence and efficiency of remote operations through automated flight routing. After configuring a route with smart settings, the drone can autonomously identify and capture images or video of vehicles and vessels, detect infrared temperature irregularities, and automatically notify operators.

A newly introduced intelligent change detection function delivers periodic analysis of area changes, providing critical insights for environmental monitoring and disaster response. In addition, the updated Virtual Cockpit interface enables operators to remotely control gimbal orientation using the new Mouselook feature, allowing fast and precise frame alignment—effectively delivering a “point and see” experience.

Industry-Leading Data Security and Regulatory Compliance

DJI places data security at the forefront of its operations, ensuring customers retain full control over their information. Users must actively opt in to share photos or videos with DJI, and users based in the United States no longer have the option to synchronize flight logs with DJI servers.

DJI FlightHub 2 has achieved ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications from the British Standards Institution (BSI), confirming that its design, development, and operational processes meet internationally recognized information security management standards. Any personal data provided for account registration is further protected באמצעות AES-256 encryption. Operators can delete shared data at any time through their DJI account or by contacting DJI Support. Since 2017, DJI has consistently subjected its products to independent third-party security audits and certifications, including assessments by Booz Allen Hamilton, FTI Consulting, and Kivu Consulting.

In addition, DJI’s Flight Termination System (FTS) module is a critical technical requirement for C6 compliance, providing the Matrice 4D Series with enhanced operational safety in highly regulated airspace. The FTS can be manually activated to immediately stop the drone’s propellers during flight or triggered automatically if the drone breaches predefined Geocaging boundaries, ensuring prompt flight termination when necessary.
