Miso to Enhance Kitchen Automation Using NVIDIA Isaac Robotics Platform and AI-Powered Vision Technology

Integrating NVIDIA Isaac Manipulator into Miso’s next-generation Flippy Fry Station aims to enhance speed, efficiency, and accuracy in foodservice automation.
Miso, a leader in kitchen automation and AI-driven robotics, announced today that it is incorporating NVIDIA accelerated computing and robotics technologies to introduce AI motion planning capabilities to its next-generation Flippy Fry Station. This integration will improve speed and accuracy in commercial kitchen operations throughout the foodservice industry.
Delivering Real-World Impact
The new Flippy Fry Station, which merges Miso AI with top-tier NVIDIA technologies, is being rolled out across various restaurant locations. This next-generation Flippy has been designed to provide quicker, more dependable performance while effortlessly fitting into current kitchen setups.
Flippy’s AI Vision & Motion Leap Forward
The Flippy Fry Station’s motion planning and precision vision systems leverage NVIDIA accelerated computing and AI, resulting in reduced food waste, enhanced throughput, and optimized cooking times. NVIDIA’s GPU-accelerated AI technology enables Flippy to identify and manage food products with greater speed and accuracy, leading to significant improvements in operational efficiency for restaurant operators.
Miso has incorporated the NVIDIA Isaac Manipulator reference workflow, which features NVIDIA cuMotion, a CUDA-accelerated library that utilizes NVIDIA’s specialized computing technology to perform motion planning tasks much more quickly than traditional systems. By utilizing this advanced technology built on ROS 2, Miso has enhanced Flippy’s motion planning, making its movements faster, smoother, and more precise. This advancement allows Flippy to navigate the kitchen more effectively and execute tasks with improved accuracy.
“Working with the NVIDIA Isaac robotics platform enables Miso to incorporate state-of-the-art motion planning and AI technology into our kitchen automation solutions,” said Dr. Bachir Kharraja, Chief Technology Officer of Miso. “By enhancing Flippy’s accuracy, speed, and consistency, we’re setting a new standard for foodservice automation that addresses critical challenges faced by operators today.”
This collaboration is poised to yield real-world results shortly. Beginning this month, the first next-generation Flippy Fry Station units, enhanced with NVIDIA AI, will be installed in commercial kitchens. With these upcoming deployments, Miso is making significant strides in advancing kitchen automation.
