Malaysia's Premier Machine Tools, Metalworking and Automation Exhibition Enters Day Three with Strong International Participation


KUALA LUMPUR METALTECH & AUTOMEX 2026, Malaysia's largest and most prominent machine tools, metalworking, and automation technology exhibition, is currently underway at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur. Running from 20 to 23 May 2026, the four-day event has drawn exhibitors and trade visitors from across the globe, reinforcing Malaysia's standing as a hub for advanced manufacturing in Southeast Asia.

Now entering its nearly third decade of operation, the exhibition is organized by Informa Markets Malaysia and endorsed by MATRADE. It has once again brought together a remarkable assembly of industry players under one roof. The show floor covers multiple exhibition halls, each focused on specific manufacturing disciplines, including machine tools, sheet metal technology, precision metrology, robotics, automation, and Industry 4.0 solutions through its co-located AUTOMEX platform.

The four-day event, running from 20 to 23 May 2026, was officially launched yesterday, 21 May, with an opening ceremony graced by YB Sim Tze Tzin, Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), whose presence underscored the Malaysian government's strong commitment to advancing the nation's industrial and manufacturing capabilities. In his address at the opening ceremony, YB Sim Tze Tzin highlighted the strategic importance of platforms such as METALTECH & AUTOMEX in driving Malaysia's transition towards high-value manufacturing, smart automation, and Industry 4.0 adoption. The Deputy Minister's attendance signals the government's recognition of the exhibition as a key catalyst in positioning Malaysia as a competitive destination for manufacturing investment in the region.


The 2026 edition is targeting more than 5,000 trade visitors from 49 countries and regions, with over 100 participating companies representing 40 countries. International pavilions from Germany, South Korea, China, Singapore, and Taiwan are among the highlights, providing visitors with direct access to cutting-edge global innovations. Exhibiting sectors include metalworking technologies, milling and turning machines, laser cutting, robotic systems, drive technologies, sensor technologies, and automated material handling, among others.




Beyond the exhibition floor, METALTECH & AUTOMEX 2026 features a packed programme of industry seminars, networking activations, and visitor engagement campaigns including the PowerTREK: Stamp & Redeem challenge and the popular Register & Win lucky draw. A digital showroom component further extends the event's reach to buyers unable to attend in person.


The exhibition has received strong support from Malaysia's key industrial associations and government bodies, including the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), Malaysia Automation Technology Association (MATA), Malaysian Robotics and Automation Society (MyAIRA), and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), among many others.
