DJI, a global leader in creative camera technology, has officially launched the DJI SDR Transmission 2, a new video transmission system powered by an upgraded software-defined radio (SDR) platform. It supports DCI 4K/60fps 10-bit HDR video at bitrates of up to 50Mbps, with latency as low as 35ms and a transmission range of up to 4km. The system is designed to provide high-bitrate, low-latency monitoring for professional productions, even in crowded environments with multiple wireless signals. It is also compatible with DJI’s professional Ronin lineup, including RS gimbals, Ronin 2 and Master Wheels.
Integrated Transmitter-Receiver Design in a Lightweight Body
The integrated transmitter-receiver design allows each transceiver unit to switch between transmission and receiving modes based on on-set requirements, eliminating the need to determine the transmitter-to-receiver ratio in advance. This improves device utilization and provides greater flexibility for changing production setups. Weighing approximately 136 g, the lightweight main unit minimizes payload on handheld stabilizers and can be easily mounted on a wide range of cameras and cinema cameras. An optional expansion board provides an SDI port, HDMI video port and four USB-C ports, while supporting SDI metadata pass-through for major cinema cameras. For outdoor applications such as vehicle-mounted setups, an optional cage offers added protection, multiple mounting points and a cable anti-detachment design.
One Transmitter, Eight-Way Control for Seamless Multi-Camera Collaboration
A single transceiver operating in TX mode can connect with up to eight RX transceivers, each supporting remote control functions. This enables directors and directors of photography to monitor footage in high definition while allowing camera operators and focus pullers to remotely adjust settings and control cameras. For larger productions, the system can support up to five transmitters and 40 receivers simultaneously, enabling reliable distribution of multi-camera feeds in complex on-set environments without compromising 4K image quality.
Smarter Frequency Management, Stronger Interference Resistance
Designed specifically for multi-camera productions, the new Auto Channel 2.0 feature allows DJI SDR Transmission 2 units to detect one another and intelligently allocate frequency bands, reducing the need for manual channel planning. Combined with more precise frequency scanning and channel-conflict diagnostics, the system can automatically switch frequencies according to the on-site environment. Even in areas with strong nearby interference, multiple transceivers operating in TX mode can maintain stable and smooth video transmission across the same production set.

The SDR Transmission 2 supports DCI 4K/60fps, 10-bit HDR and H.265 video at bitrates of up to 50 Mbps, delivering rich detail and smooth color transitions. It preserves clear highlights and shadows while maintaining consistent image quality across multiple cameras.
With a transmission range of up to 4 km, the system provides a reliable connection across various environments, from open stadiums to dense mountain forests, as well as for demanding car-to-car shots and challenging FPV drone operations.
With latency as low as 35 ms, the system also keeps monitoring and remote controls, including focus pulling and gimbal movements, responsive.
Fast Feed Switching and Professional Monitoring Tools
The DJI SDR Transmission 2 eliminates the traditional process of rebooting, disconnecting, searching for frequencies and re-pairing devices. Users can simply tap the transceiver in RX mode or use the Ronin app to instantly switch between camera feeds, streamlining on-set workflows and reducing setup time. The transceiver can deliver ultra-HD, low-latency video to professional monitors through SDI, HDMI or DP, while USB-C connectivity enables stable, high-bitrate monitoring on smartphones and tablets. The DJI Ronin app also provides professional monitoring tools, including LUT, focus peaking, waveform and false color. In addition, PTP control for compatible cameras allows users to view and adjust aperture, shutter speed and ISO, as well as trigger photo capture and video recording through the app, while CEC-compatible cameras support virtual menu functionality.

The DJI SDR Video Transmission 2 supports multiple power options for on-set flexibility. Choose from industry-standard NP-F batteries supplying 6.8V to 8.4V or power delivery via standard PD-protocol chargers, with a USB-C output of 15V/3A for better compatibility. For those already using DJI RS 5, RS 4, RS 4 Pro, RS 3 Pro, Ronin 2, or Master Wheels2, the transceiver can be mounted directly on the gimbal and powered by it, no separate battery is required.
