DJI Dock 3 Delivers “Drone in a Box” Enterprise Solution For 24/7 Remote Operations

DJI, the global leader in civil drones and creative camera technology, has launched DJI Dock 3, the company’s first “Drone in a Box” solution designed for 24/7 remote operations. This advanced system supports both vehicle-mounted and fixed deployments, making it ideal for public safety, emergency response, and infrastructure inspection. The Dock 3 is accompanied by the newly introduced DJI Matrice 4D and Matrice 4TD drones, which offer enhanced flight performance and durability.
“As the world’s most trusted solution for aerial operations in public safety and infrastructure maintenance, DJI continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible,” said Christina Zhang, Senior Director of Corporate Strategy at DJI. “With DJI Dock 3, we’re proud to deliver innovative and reliable solutions that can flexibly adapt to the needs of operators on the ground.”
Adaptable to Extreme Environments
Designed to withstand extreme conditions, DJI Dock 3 can operate and charge seamlessly in temperatures as high as 50°C (122°F) and as low as -30°C (-22°F) when pre-heated. Its robust build features an IP56 dust and water resistance rating, ensuring protection in challenging environments. The accompanying Matrice 4D and 4TD drones come equipped with low-noise, anti-ice propellers, enabling stable flight even in freezing rain and strong winds up to 12 meters per second.
Flexible Deployment, Ultra-Long Transmission
For enhanced deployment flexibility, DJI Dock 3 is optimized for both vehicle-mounted and stationary operations. For vehicle-mounted use, it supports horizontal calibration and cloud-based location calibrations, allowing for efficient emergency response and remote inspections. Operators can mount two docks per vehicle, enabling seamless dual-drone rotations. For fixed deployments, an optional D-RTK 3 Relay Fixed Deployment Version enhances the dock’s anti-interference performance, improving both video transmission stability and satellite signal acquisition.
High-Performance DJI Matrice 4D and 4TD
The new Matrice 4D and 4TD drones feature IP55 dust and water resistance, an extended 54-minute maximum flight time, and 47 minutes of hovering capability. Both drones are equipped with a wide-angle camera, a medium tele camera, a tele camera, and a Laser Range Finder. The Night Scene mode enables full-color night vision, while the Matrice 4TD offers additional IR-Cut Filter features for black-and-white night vision.
The Matrice 4D is designed for high-precision mapping and detailed surface inspections, featuring a 24mm wide camera (4/3 CMOS, f/2.8-f/11, 20MP) with a mechanical shutter, a 70mm medium tele camera (1/1.3-inch CMOS, f/2.8, 48MP), and a 168mm tele camera (1/1.5-inch CMOS, f/2.8, 48MP). When paired with FlightHub 2, the drone’s powerful auto-zoom can efficiently track moving subjects such as vehicles or vessels. The Matrice 4TD, equipped with an infrared thermal camera and a new NIR auxiliary light, is tailored for public safety, emergency response, and infrastructure inspections.
Seamless Airborne Relay
A key feature of the Matrice 4 Series is its seamless airborne relay capability. Using the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise remote controller, a drone can function as a relay station, extending another drone’s operational range, even in areas without a 4G signal or in obstructed environments. This feature is particularly useful for search and rescue missions or inspections in mountainous regions.
Other New Accessories for Comprehensive Support
To enhance operational efficiency, DJI has introduced several new accessories. The Obstacle Sensing Module adds LiDAR and millimeter-wave radar technology, allowing drones to navigate complex environments such as power grid lines and substations with precision. The DJI AL1 SpotLight provides 100-meter illumination and can follow the gimbal’s movements, ensuring a well-lit field of view. The DJI AS1 Speaker broadcasts up to 300 meters, delivering messages at 114 decibels from a 1-meter distance, with support for recorded messages, media imports, and text-to-speech conversion. Additionally, the Matrice 4 Series now supports third-party payloads, including parachutes, through the aircraft’s E-Port. Operators can also remotely control added payloads via FlightHub 2 integration.
Intelligent Aerial Operation for Efficient Remote Missions
When paired with DJI FlightHub 2, the DJI Dock 3 enables intelligent aerial operations with automated flight routes. Drones can autonomously detect and capture images or videos of vehicles or vessels, identify infrared temperature anomalies, and send alerts to operators. The intelligent change detection feature provides periodic analysis of changes in monitored areas, which is critical for environmental protection and disaster response. Additionally, the updated Virtual Cockpit interface includes the new Mouselook feature, allowing operators to adjust the gimbal orientation remotely, ensuring rapid and precise framing of subjects.
Industry-Leading Data Security and Regulatory Compliance
DJI emphasizes industry-leading data security and regulatory compliance, putting users in control of their data. Opt-in policies ensure that operators choose whether to share photos and videos with DJI, and US-based users no longer have the option to sync flight logs with DJI servers. FlightHub 2 has earned ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications, confirming compliance with global information security standards. Any personal data shared during account registration is protected with AES-256 encryption, and users can delete their data at any time through their DJI account or customer support.
DJI also prioritizes regulatory compliance with features like the Flight Termination System (FTS), which is a key requirement for C6 compliance. The FTS module adds an extra layer of safety, allowing operators to manually stop the drone’s propellers or automatically terminate a flight if the drone breaches geofencing boundaries.
