Allen Control Systems Joins Red Cat Futures Initiative to Advance Autonomous Counter-Drone and Precision Defense Capabilities
4 Mar 2026
Red Cat Holdings, Inc., a U.S.-based provider of advanced all-domain drone and robotic systems for defense and national security, has announced that Allen Control Systems (ACS), a specialist in autonomous precision robotics, has joined the Red Cat Futures Initiative—an industry consortium focused on accelerating next-generation autonomous technologies for modern warfare.

Through its participation in the Futures Initiative, ACS will work alongside Red Cat to explore integration opportunities between its Bullfrog autonomous counter-drone system and Red Cat’s secure ISR platforms and command-and-control architecture. The initial integration will involve Blue Ops, Red Cat’s maritime division, where Bullfrog will be deployed on its Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs). This collaboration will extend ACS’s counter-UAS and precision engagement capabilities across multiple operational domains.

“The rapid proliferation of small unmanned systems has reshaped the modern battlefield and requires equally advanced countermeasures,” said Jason Gunter, VP of Tech & Innovation at Red Cat. “Allen Control Systems brings innovative autonomous precision technology that complements our Family of Systems approach. By working together, we strengthen our ability to provide interoperable, American-made solutions that enhance survivability and mission effectiveness for U.S. and allied forces.”

“U.S. and allied nations are seeking cost-effective and scalable counter-drone systems to provide a new layer of protection on the move and at the edge,” said Mike Wior, co-founder and CEO, ACS. “Partnering with Red Cat and joining the Futures Initiative allows us to integrate our fully autonomous precision weapons station into a proven unmanned platform, advancing these systems beyond basic requirements and enabling them to execute more advanced and complex missions for U.S. military forces and their allies.”

The Futures Initiative brings together top robotics and autonomy innovators to fast-track the deployment of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, computer vision, target acquisition, swarming capabilities, and resilient control systems. It aims to streamline integration, shorten deployment timelines, and ensure mission-ready, trusted systems reach frontline operators more rapidly.

Allen Control Systems develops autonomous weapon platforms tailored to the realities of modern warfare. Its flagship system, Bullfrog, leverages AI, computer vision, and proprietary control technologies to enable both legacy and next-generation weapons to accurately engage targets, significantly enhancing the precision of existing battlefield assets.

This partnership underscores a mutual commitment to reinforcing the U.S. defense industrial base and accelerating the rollout of American-made systems. As the Department of War and allied nations emphasize resilient supply chains and scalable autonomous capabilities, collaborative efforts like the Futures Initiative are essential in delivering interoperable, cross-domain solutions.
