Abu Dhabi captivated audiences with a spectacular 50-minute fireworks display and a 6,000-drone performance, setting six Guinness World Records to celebrate the New Year.


Abu Dhabi dazzled the global community with a breathtaking New Year's Eve celebration, boasting an unparalleled fireworks display at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba. The jaw-dropping 50-minute spectacle captivated audiences worldwide and set six new Guinness World Records. Accompanying the dazzling pyrotechnics was an extraordinary display of over 6,000 drones weaving intricate patterns across the night sky for well over 20 minutes, simply leaving onlookers spellbound.


The festival’s grand finale built excitement with hourly fireworks displays starting at 6 p.m., leading to a record-breaking midnight spectacle that illuminated the Emirati capital. Iconic landmarks across Abu Dhabi, such as Yas Island and the Corniche, added to the festivities with their own dazzling pyrotechnic shows.


Social media, particularly Instagram, was flooded with videos capturing the vibrant atmosphere and stunning visuals of fireworks lighting up the night sky. The celebrations showcased Abu Dhabi’s dedication to surpassing its previous achievements. In 2023, the Sheikh Zayed Festival gained international acclaim with a 40-minute fireworks display that set three Guinness World Records for duration, formations, and quantity. That same year, the festival also made history by creating the world’s largest aerial logo using over 5,000 drones.
